IHSA Contest -
A Huge Success!
This past week, the Advanced Drama class and the Honors Performance class, in addition to the group of talented
technicians, travelled to Oak Lawn, Illinois to compete against other area schools. Although they didn't advance to
state this year, the students performed admirably both onstage and off.
The Advanced drama class presented a Group Interpretation entitled: Loneliness - Selected Poems and Writings.
The Honors Performance class presented The Crucible by Arthur Miller. This performance will be reprised
on Tuesday for a select group of English classes who use Arthur Miller's work in their curriculum.
The scenery for The Crucible was designed, built and transferred to the sponsoring school by the
technical theatre students under the supervision of Adam Liston, our technical director.
These students did a fantastic job with the scenery and received an "Ah" from the audience as the lights came up.
If you missed the performance for our community on Thursday, make sure
that you don't miss out on next year's production. Don't forget to check back to find out where and when contest will
be held next year. The Sectional Contest is open to the public and we encourage all supporters of the East High and
the Fine Arts to attend and support our students.
